The site is delivered through Cloudflare Workers by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When a page is accessed, Cloudflare may process technically necessary connection and security data, including the IP address, requested URL, time, browser and connection data, and routing and security information. This supports delivery, stability and protection of the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details.

Destination, climate and comparison pages are served as static files. We store no personal data in a database for display, and there is no registration or user account. Calculations in the climate finder and new climate tools run in your browser; selected filters are not submitted to our server as form data. If you open or share a URL containing filter parameters, the requested URL may appear in technical logs as described in section 2.

Best Travel Climate can also be used through its public ChatGPT and Codex plugin. When you use the plugin, the client sends the structured travel criteria needed for the selected tool—such as destination names, months, date ranges and climate preferences—to our Cloudflare-hosted MCP endpoint. The endpoint is anonymous and read-only. We do not create a user account, save a profile or use these criteria for advertising. Cloudflare may process the request and related security logs as described in section 2. The privacy terms of the client through which you invoke the plugin apply separately.

We use technically necessary cookies or similar technologies only where required to operate the site (legal basis Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, § 25(2) TDDDG).

Non-essential cookies and technologies, in particular for advertising (see section 7), are only set after your explicit consent via our consent banner (consent management), on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We store your choice in your browser’s local storage for this purpose (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, § 25(2) TDDDG).

Exceptions are the partner scripts from GetYourGuide, Viator and Impact and Cloudflare Web Analytics described in section 6. They load without prior consent; section 6 lists what they store on your device.

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The purpose is audience measurement: we want to understand how many people visit our pages, which content is used and where visitors come from, so we can improve the site. This processes in particular the pages viewed, time, referrer, device and browser data, approximate location (derived from the IP address; Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address itself) and a random client ID.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG (formerly TTDSG). Google Analytics is only loaded after you click “Accept” in the banner; before that no data is sent to Google. We use Google Consent Mode v2: ad storage and ad personalisation stay denied, Google signals and personalised advertising are disabled.

Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, each stored for up to 2 years. Event and user data are deleted in Google Analytics after 14 months. Google may transfer data to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.

You can withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Google Analytics is then disabled and the _ga cookies are deleted. More information is available inGoogle’s privacy policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics. Every page loads a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com. It records the page view, referrer, browser and device type, approximate country and technical loading and performance metrics, and sends them to this site’s /cdn-cgi/rum endpoint operated by Cloudflare. Cloudflare states that the service sets no cookies, uses no local storage and builds no user profiles; we only receive aggregated statistics. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is privacy-friendly measurement of reach and loading times.

GetYourGuide. Every page loads the GetYourGuide Integration Analyzer (GetYourGuide AG, Zurich, Switzerland) from widget.getyourguide.com. It is used for technical monitoring and performance measurement of our GetYourGuide links and widgets. Your IP address, browser and device information, the page viewed, referrer and interactions with these links may be sent to GetYourGuide; event data goes to collector.getyourguide.com. Under this site’s domain the Analyzer stores the cookie “session_id” (a session cookie deleted when you close the browser), the sessionStorage entry “gyg_visitor_id” (until you close the tab) and the localStorage entry “partner_id” containing our partner ID (until you clear your browser data). On destination pages a GetYourGuide widget shows matching tours; it is loaded as embedded content from getyourguide.com. More information inGetYourGuide’s privacy policy.

Viator. On destination pages a widget from Viator, Inc. (USA, part of the Tripadvisor group) loads matching tours from www.viator.com. Viator receives in particular your IP address, browser and device information, the page viewed and our partner ID. More information in Viator’s privacy policy.

Impact. For links to Skyscanner we use the partner platform Impact (Impact Tech, Inc., USA). Every page loads a script from utt.impactcdn.com that marks matching links as affiliate links and reports their display to Impact. Your IP address, browser and device information and the page viewed may be sent to Impact. More information inImpact’s privacy policy.

Embedded content from GetYourGuide and Viator may set its own cookies within its own domain; we have no control over this. The legal basis for loading the partner scripts and widgets is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is operating, checking and settling the affiliate integrations that fund this site. For transfers to the USA the providers state that they rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU standard contractual clauses.

This website may display advertising through Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and to measure their delivery and performance. This may involve processing usage data (including truncated IP address, device and browser data, pages viewed, ad interactions) and transferring it to Google and to the USA. For personalized ads, Google may build interest profiles from this data.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG. Advertising cookies are only set after you have agreed in the consent banner; without consent, no personalized ads are shown. You can also disable personalized ads in Google Ad Settings and via youronlinechoices.eu and optout.aboutads.info. See Google’s privacy policy for details.

This website is funded in part through affiliate programs. Outbound recommendation links (including to GetYourGuide, Viator, Booking.com, Amazon and Skyscanner) are affiliate links: when you click one, you are taken to the partner via an internal redirect (/go/…). The partner may set a cookie or click identifier to attribute a later booking to your click and pay us a commission. This is at no extra cost to you.

Once you reach the partner, the partner’s privacy policy applies. The legal basis for the redirect is our legitimate interest in funding the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); where the partner sets consent-requiring cookies, this is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We build no personal profiles ourselves and receive only aggregated, non-identifying settlement data. Our rankings are based solely on climate data, never on commission.

Recipients are the hosting provider Cloudflare (including for Cloudflare Web Analytics), when a page loads GetYourGuide, Viator and Impact (see section 6), subject to consent Google (audience measurement, advertising) and, when you click an affiliate link, the respective partner. Where data is transferred to third countries (in particular the USA), this is based on EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. No transfer takes place for purposes other than those described.

Server log files are stored for as long as technically necessary and then deleted or truncated. The lifetime of the Google Analytics cookies is stated in section 5. Otherwise we store personal data only as long as required for the stated purposes or by statutory retention obligations.

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. Contact info@besttravelclimate.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

If you contact us by email (info@besttravelclimate.com), we process the data you provide (email address, content) to handle your request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contractual relationship is involved. Emails are delivered via the email/forwarding service of our domain provider (Namecheap Inc., USA). We delete the data once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Fonts are served locally from our own server. There is no request to Google Fonts or other external servers, so your IP address is not transmitted to third parties for this purpose.

Transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
